In advertisements, everything seems so simple: a reach into the fridge, a refreshing sip of cola, and happiness ensues. If only sex were just as uncomplicated! Unfortunately, interpersonal lemonade behaves differently from caffeinated sugar water. While Coca-Cola always tastes the same and is produced to exact standards, sex is more like homemade lemonade: sometimes fizzy, sometimes flat, often too sweet or too bitter, and occasionally the bottle explodes if shaken too hard.
Then there is the great misunderstanding: Coca-Cola sells us the image of eternal refreshment, but the truth is that after consumption, you are often thirstier than before. The same goes for the „over-marketing“ of sex: media and advertising constantly suggest that everyone can have a perfect cola moment at any time. But reality is sobering. Served ice-cold or spilled lukewarm – not every experience is a commercial.
